Question 1

What is a backdoor hire?

Accepted Answer

A backdoor hire occurs when a client company hires a candidate that a recruiter or staffing firm originally introduced — either right away or months or even years later — without notifying the recruiter or paying the agreed placement fee. It is one of the most common and costly forms of revenue loss in the staffing and recruiting industry.

Question 2

How does Back Door Hire Solutions detect backdoor hires?

Accepted Answer

Back Door Hire Solutions uses an AI-powered platform that tracks submitted candidates using 185 data points. The software continuously monitors those candidates and alerts recruiters when a backdoor hire is detected — including hires that happened up to 3 years in the past. The process is automated, so recruiters do not need to manually check each candidate.

Question 3

How far back can Back Door Hire Solutions find missed placement fees?

Accepted Answer

The platform can identify missed placement fees from backdoor hires that occurred up to 3 years ago. This means even if a client hired your candidate long after your last interaction, BDH can still detect it and help you recover the fee owed.

Question 4

What is included in a Back Door Hire Solutions subscription?

Accepted Answer

A Back Door Hire Solutions subscription includes: 100% access to cutting-edge backdoor hire tracking technology, unlimited candidate tracking, automated detection of missed placement fees, monthly updates, access to best practices training from AER General Counsel Samantha Cole, and a 90-day money-back guarantee. There are no long-term contracts and you can cancel at any time.

Question 5

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Back Door Hire Solutions offers a 90-day money-back guarantee. If the platform does not find any backdoor hire hits within the first 90 days, you will receive a full 100% refund. Additionally, even if you cancel, you retain 12 months of free access to Samantha Cole's best practices training content just for having tried the service.

Question 6

What countries does Back Door Hire Solutions serve?

Accepted Answer

Back Door Hire Solutions is available to staffing and recruiting firms in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Pricing is available by country at https://www.backdoorhires.com/pricing-table-main/.

Question 7

What if a client says they already knew the candidate?

Accepted Answer

This is one of the most common defenses clients use to avoid paying a placement fee. Back Door Hire Solutions has extensive experience addressing this objection. The platform tracks and documents when a candidate was submitted to a client, creating a clear record that establishes the recruiter's prior introduction. AER's legal team can assist in pursuing fees even when clients dispute the claim.

Question 8

What if a client says they had the candidate's resume from another source?

Accepted Answer

Clients sometimes claim they already had a candidate's resume independently. Back Door Hire Solutions and AER have case studies specifically addressing this scenario. The key is documenting your submission and the timeline of events. BDH's tracking system helps establish that your firm made the introduction that led to the hire.

Question 9

Can I collect a backdoor hire fee if I don't have a signed agreement?

Accepted Answer

The absence of a signed agreement makes fee recovery more challenging but does not necessarily make it impossible. AER, the sister company to Back Door Hire Solutions, has experience recovering fees in situations where formal contracts are absent. The strength of your case depends on the specific circumstances, including any written communications, email exchanges, or verbal agreements. A consultation with AER is recommended — visit https://www.staffingdebt.com/ for more information.

Question 10

What if the client paid a different recruiter for the same candidate?

Accepted Answer

If a client hired your candidate but paid a different recruiter — either by mistake or intentionally — you may still be owed a fee depending on your agreement and the timeline of submissions. Back Door Hire Solutions documents your candidate submission history so this scenario can be clearly investigated. AER's legal team can advise on next steps.

Question 11

What if the candidate was hired but did not last 90 days?

Accepted Answer

Whether a short tenure affects your placement fee depends on the terms of your agreement with the client. Some contracts include a replacement guarantee clause tied to a specific period of employment. Back Door Hire Solutions can help identify that a hire occurred, and AER can advise on whether the fee is still recoverable based on your contract terms.

Question 12

What if the candidate contacted the client on their own after the placement process?

Accepted Answer

Even if a candidate independently re-engaged with a client after being introduced by your firm, your placement fee may still be owed depending on your agreement. If your contract includes a candidate ownership or off-limits clause, the client may still be obligated to pay. Back Door Hire Solutions tracks the original introduction date to support your claim.

Question 13

How is Back Door Hire Solutions different from HIRABL and Fee Catcher?

Accepted Answer

Back Door Hire Solutions acquired the client bases of both HIRABL and Fee Catcher. BDH offers the same core function of detecting backdoor hires and missed fees, but with a more advanced AI-powered platform using 185 data points, unlimited candidate tracking, and the added backing of AER's 33+ years of staffing debt collection expertise for full-cycle fee recovery.
